learning

learning is the most important purpose for us to be here at the mortality.
during this mortal life, we are resposible to learn both spiritually and academically.
to achieve the goal build the kingdom of god,
knowledge is an essential component.

in alma 32:12,
"I say unto you, it is well that ye are cast out of your synagogues, that ye may be humble, and that ye may learn wisdom; for it is necessary that ye should learn wisdom; for it is because that ye are cast out, that ye are despised of your brethren because of your exceeding poverty, that ye are brought to a lowliness of heart; for ye are necessarily brought to be humble. "

this verse stated the importance of learning.
it's kind of a preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ.

suffering

suffering is kind of a trial that helps us to improve.
it's something bad but actually can do good impacts on us.

in alma 20:29,
"And when Ammon did meet them he was exceedingly sorrowful, for behold they were naked, and their skins were worn exceedingly because of being bound with strong cords. And they also had suffered hunger, thirst, and all kinds of afflictions; nevertheless they were patient in all their sufferings. "

we should be patient when we are suffering,
instaed of murmuring,
always remember our many blessings,
it helps to cease our pains,
but we'll have a positive to take the challenges,
so that we can achieve the purpose to learn in the mortal life.

Charity

Today i thought about the christlike attributes,
and i found charity is one of the most important ones.

in Moro. 7:43 - 48,
"And again, behold I say unto you that he cannot have faith and hope, save he shall be meek, and lowly of heart.

If so, his faith and hope is vain, for none is acceptable before God, save the meek and lowly in heart; and if a man be meek and lowly in heart, and confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ, he must needs have charity; for if he have not charity he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have charity.

And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—

But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be pirified even as he is pure. Amen"

Charity is the pure love of Christ!
it was proved that Jesus has sacrificed for us,
and we should cultivate this attribute,
to spread the love to others.

Ingratitude

yesterday i attended a fireside which topic was "gratitude".
the speaker told us that we 've a lot to thank God.
for examples, our bodies, families, talents, being educated, salvation, atonement and so on.
we have to learn to count our many blessings,
especially during some hard times, gratitude may help us to endure.

in D&C 46:32,
"And ye must give thanks unto God in the Spirit for whatsoever blessing ye are blessed with",
when we remember how blissful we are, we may thank God and believe Him,
then we'll even be blessed more.

baptism

I still remember when i was eight,
I was baptized by my uncle.
I knew it's a special moment in my life,
I have agreed to make commitments to our Lord.
this' significantly important to answer why we have to get baptized.

in D&C 20:37,
"And again, by way of commandment to the church concerning the manner of baptism—All those who humble themselves before God, and desire to be baptized, and come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits, and witness before the church that they have truly repented of all their sins, and are willing to take upon them t of Jesus Christ, having a determination to serve him to the end, and truly manifest by their works that they have received of the Spirit of Christ unto the remission of their sins, shall be received by baptism into his church"
here it's talking about why and how the convert get baptized.
actually it's not just for them,
but for us who those born in church, we still need to ponder about the purpose of baptism,
and keep living our commitments to our Heavenly Father.

sacrifice

I've talked to my non-member friend today,
i mentioned about my mission,
and he found it's kind of a sacrifice,
he doesn't understand why i have to go.
i explained to him as i've been blessed for so much,
and so it's the time for me to do something for our Lord,
to help to build His kingdom on the earth,
and i don't find it's a sacrifice, but a service and a privilege.

What's really a sacrifice? what our Savior has done on us!
in D&C 138:2,
"and reflecting upon the great atoning sacrifice that was made by the Son of God, for the redemption of the world",
He is just perfect, but he suffers because of our sins.
and that's why we need to always remember Him,
remind ourselves to do better,
to be worthy to go back to Heavenly Father's presence.

agency

today i've pondered about freedom and captivity,
and i found it's all about the use of agency.

in D&C 137:9,
"For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts",
so, we'll be judged as what we deserved.
we have the freedom to choose what we want,
meanwhile we have to face the consequences.

also in D&C 58:28,
"For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward",
we know that God promises us if we used our agency correctly,
we will be blessed.

preparation

when im reading the manual of the class,
i understand more about the importance of preparation,
both physically and mentally.

D&C 27:16 says that,
"Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of rightousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, which I have sent mine angels to commit unto you",

mission work will never be easy, only if we are well prepared,
we could then overcome the difficulties that will be facing.
we have are unprepared, the mission work would be an unpleasant experience to us,
and we cannot achieve the purpose to preach the gospel.

faith and conversion

in 2 nephi 31:19-20,
"And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.

Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life. "

these verses show us clearly the relationship between faith and how it helps people to be converted.
faith in Jesus Christ is essential for people to confirm the truthfulness of the gospel,
so as long as people have faith,
they are then willing to turn to Christ.
they have faith and it elicits their testimonies.

Monday, November 3, 2008

testimony

faith brings us testimonies, and testimonies strengthen our faith.
This cycle is significantly important for a latter-day saint,
as testimonies are the weapons for us to fight again trials or temptations.

in D&C 138:12, "And there were gathered together in one place an innumerable company of the spirits of the just, who had been faithful in the testimony of Jesus while they lived in mortality",
it states the importance and relation of faith and testimony.

in D&C 76:22, "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives! "
i personally know that Jesus is the Christ, I know He lives,
and because of His atonement, our sins are forgiven,
and we have the chance to go back to Father's presence.

Friday, October 31, 2008

faith

in 1 nephi 7:12,"Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him"

god knows what we need, and he can give us anything.
the only thing that he asks for is just our faith.

faith is a cycle that if we have faith, we 'll have testimonies,
and the testimonies help us to increase our faith.

the BOM

today i've studied about the teachings on the book of mormon,
and i know more about it,
and i understand the restoration is greatly related to it.

in 1nephi, "And the angel spake unto me, saying: These last records, which thou hast seen among the Gentiles, shall establish the truth of the first, which are of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, and shall make known the plain and precious things which have been taken away from them; and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world; and that all men must come unto him, or they cannot be saved",
it claerly tells that this is also a record from the heaven,
which is to complete the whole thing of the gospel.

in D&C 42:12, "And again, the elders, priests and teachers of this church shall teach the principles of my gospel, which are in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, in the which is the fulness of the gospel",
just when we are putting them together,
then we get the full knowledge.
so we should study both the bible and the bom hard.

first vision

when i'm reviewing chapter 9 of the manual,
the thing that i thought of the most was the first vision.

in JS-H 1:17,
"It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, stabding above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son, Hear Him!"

after the vision, joseph smith restored the gospel and the church,
he obey what the Lord said, Hear Him (Jesus Christ),
so it testifies that jesus christ is the center of our church.

If there's no faith, the vision came,
if there's not the vision, joseph smith would not be able to restore the church,
and now in the last dispensation, we won't have the gospel and the truths in our life.
therefore, i strongly believe that the vision is the start of everything we are now having.

apostasy

during the great apostasy, many different churches were emerged,
false doctrines were taught, it's a darkness of the spiritual.

in matt 24:24, "For there shall arise false Christ, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect",
it shows how the chaos is.

in JS-H 1:19, "I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof",
It was absolutely a pity that they had the authority, but never made good uses of them.
I personally think i'm blessed, which i was born in church,
i didn't need to struggle in the wrong concepts or low standards in the common society.
However, it's so harmful to men's hearts,
that they are surrounded by the faults.

good that we've the restored church and gospel,
and we have the correct teachings and the living prophets.

Monday, October 20, 2008

prophet

in D&C 1:38, "... whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same",
this shows the importance of the prophet.
prophets are the representatives of the Lord,
they reveal the anew teachings during different times,
and these all are like exactly form the heaven,
as the prophets have the authority.

in Matt 16:19, "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
this states that the prophets have the keys from the Lord,
that they may bring us authority, they can give us blessings,
they can foresee and they can teach.

it's a blessing to have our alive prophets to guide us,
that we could be continuously taught.

immortality

in D&C 63:49, it defined immortality as "rise from the dead and shall not die after".
immortality is different from the eternal life,
everyone has the opportunity to be immortal, even the wicked.

D&C 88:97 ,116, respectively stated that,
"they who have slept in their graves shall come forth",
also "they shall not any more see death".
this's a gift from our heavenly father,
He wants us to be here the earth to learn,
and after all the consequences come along with our choices,
we spend our whole life, what we are talking about here,
the immortality, enforce you to embark in what you have done.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

opposition

in 2 Nephi 2:11, "For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my first-born in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility"

if we do not have oppositions, it's just a chaos.
when there's no right or wrong,
there's no good and evil,
and hence we lose our purpose of life.

oppositions are just something for us to learn,
we improve, we gain, we grow with them.

agency and salvation

in mosiah 3:18, "salvation was, and is, and is to come . . . through the atoning blood of Christ",
it stated that jesus christ is the central of the plan of salvation.

last night i learned about the agency.
1/ power to choose
2/ opposition
3/ law
4/ knowledge of good and evil

these things came form the fall of adam.
since we have the agency, it brings along freedom and captivity.
if we choose the right, we are free of guilt,
but captivity brings us the lost of the Spirit.

salvation is something personal, requires our efforts.
D&C 45:58, "children shall grow up without sin unto salvation",
we can bring our own salvations, it really depends on how we use our agency.

missionary work

today i bore my testimony during the sacrament meeting.
my sister is heading to the provo mtc today,
and it made me think more about the missionary work.

in D&C 42:6, "go forth ... preaching my gospel".
if there were no missionaries before, my mom wouldn't go to the church,
then my family wouldn't go to the church,
if we didn't go to the church, my siblings and me won't have the chances to serve the mission.
if we are not going to serve, many people may lose their opportunities,
and a vicious circle may appear.

so, always prepare oursleves to preah the restored gospel,
tell everyone about the truth.
this is not jsut our obligation but also privilege.

purpose of life

our father has got a plan for us, the plan of salvation.
thats why we are now in the world. why?

through the journey of life, we know where we came from,
why we are here, and where will we be after.
God loves us, He offers us the chance to learn -
with our flesh and bones.

in D&C 14:7, said that it is "the greatest of all the gifts of God",
this plan makes us possible to return to His presence after this mortal life.
it depends on how we chosse,
we here learn how to define good or evil,
we make progress, and eventually will be judged.

Friday, October 10, 2008

purpose to be on earth

our heavenly father has a plan for us to learn and eventually go back to Him,
This's the plan of salvation.
As a part of the plan, we came to the earth and learn.

in alma 12:24, it said that mortal state is "a time to prepare to meet God",
through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ,
we all sinners are able to go back to the heaven.
but to achieve this, we still have to learn,
and thi's the purpose that we are here.

Thursday, October 9, 2008

salvation

in alma 34:15, "bring salvation to all those who shall believe on his name",
it means that if we believe in God, we shall be saved.
salvation is actually our own business,
you cannot force people to make it,
the same people cannot help you to achieve it.
we have to bring our own salvation unto ourselves.

in D&C 4:4, "bringeth salvation to his soul",
if we went go our mission, we are helping people to convert to the church,
help them to know about the gospel, hence go back to our heavenly father.
meanwhile, we are just helping ourselves to reach our own salvation.

in D&C 6:13, "no gift greater than the gift of salvation",
we can tell how valuable the salvation is,
and we are guided to how to reach it,
this is our blessing.

righteousness

In Isa. 45:8, "let the skies pour down righteousness",
we can know that rightousness is come from the Lord.
Heavely father wants us to live rightously,
and he promised us if we did so we will be blessed.

Also in 1Nep 22:26, "becasue of rightousness ... satan has no power".
now we know that the best way to keep ourselves from temptation,
is always live rightousness out.
Satan always wants to pull us down,
as a pre-missionary i personally think that we are even more at risk,
cause satan wants to ruin us.
so the weapon we fight back is rightousness.

Monday, October 6, 2008

faith and endure

today i've read the book of Job in the bible,
it's about Satan wanna show that Job was actually being good just because he's blessed,
and satan was trying to temptate him.
Job receives four messages, each bearing separate news that his, livestock, servants,
and ten children have all died due to marauding, nvaders or natural catastrophes.
But after all of these he's still faithful to God.

If i were him, i don't think i could bare all these things,
but Job shows that with faith,
people are able to endure,
and if we do so, we will be blessed,
like at the end Job had more than what he had had before.

Atonement of Jesus Christ

today i heard someone said to his friend "you are a sinner".

i was then recalled of the atonement of our savier jesus christ,
without his atonement, among all the men who's not a sinner?

in 2nephi 2:7, "he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin",
He is that perfect, sinless, but sacrifice for us.
it's definitely not easy to do so.
His blood washed away our sins, so everytime i think of this,
it acts as a reminder to keep myself to avoid to committ any sins.

in D&C 18:11, it's more clear, "he suffered the pain of all men",
he suffered all things not because of himself, but us.
you could never find anyone else could do such a great thing beside Him.
how great this love is?

Thursday, October 2, 2008

importance of learning

in alma 37:35, "learn wisdom in thy youth",
now we are at our teenage, it's the golden time to learn.
our living prophets not once but many times,
have asked us to learn, not only spiritually but also academically.

learning spiritually, treasuring up our gosple knowledge,
it'll definitely help our missions.
it helps us to explain the gospel clearly,
and be capable to tell the investigators what they want to know.

learning academically, help us to be in the world,
we may face some technical problems during our missions,
it needs us to be learned.

service

I've read 2Nephi 2:3 today,
it said "thy days shall be spent in the service of thy God",
everyday we may be busy with our schoolwork,
what's the priority of the Lord in our hearts?
do we understand how important to serve Him?

service is one of the great blessings in the Church.
all of the work is voluntary in Church,
but actually we get paid, we have countless blessings.

besides the missionary work, we still could have a lot to do,
like priesthood holders need to do the home teachings,
or simply we may help the missionaries for their work,
even just help doing the chores all service too.
all of these can radiate the love of our heavenly father.

Hope

after the devotional today,
I've thought about the issue - hope.

after I'd got back, i read the verses on moroni 10:20,
it said that faith brings hope, and charity comes along with hope.
Hence, we can tell how important hope is in our lives.

in mormon 6:4, " we had hope to gain advantage",
not like in the verse that they got advantages over the lamanites,
but if we applied it, we may be able to face the difficulties,
being sensitive to know god's love.

Hope gives us courage, and faith,
that we may know our redeemer lives,
we know the gospel has been restored,
what a blessing the hope is!

faithful and obedient

today i've read the verses about Nephi went back to get the brass plate.
his brothers were scared and were not willing to go,
but Nephi knew that he had to do what the Lord said,
he knew that God will "prepare a road" for him,
even though it's not easy, even it's dangerous,
he still dedicate himself with his faith.

I keep this experience in my mind.
in the daily life, sometimes i feel like i'm lost,
i don't know ehy trials and temptations come to me.
but then i remember the example of Nephi,
i know that everything we are facing have their purposes to me.
God is always looking after His children,
so with my faith, and obey His commandments,
i know i can get through all the things, and be preserved.

reminders for missionaries

Today i read a book, which includes a lot of reminders for missionaries.
it's just impressive! even i haven't finished it,
but still i know more about the real life when we are on the mission field.

Many little things that i've never considered as preparations for the mission,
are actually crucial after i've read the book.

After this, i went through D&C 4, as what the reminder suggested.
I know it's not just a obligation, but also our privilege to serve God.
It's never easy, yet it's a honor,
and we are just brining "salvation to our souls".

Saturday, September 27, 2008

the book of mormon

We are suggested to finish the book of mormon at least once, before we go on our mission.
I've almost finished the book of mormon,
and i was pondering why is it important.
I know that it is the keystone of our religion, but why?

Well, the more i read, the more i like and understand it.
it witnesses the Christ! it's all about the teaching of Christ.
also, it gives and strengthens our testimonies,
everytime when i read the book of mormon, even the same verse,
i may feel something different at the different times, or after i've experienced something.

also, it's kind of a supplement of the Holy Bible,
have a look on each of them, you 'll know they are testifying each other.
it's the fulness of the doctrine.

Diligence learning

Today I've read the article on diligence learning, for doing the assignment.
After that, I've some inspiration and thoughts come up to my mind,
so i read more scriptures that are related.

In these scriptures, I know that even though we are learning,
it's really different to learn with and without the accompany of the Spirit.
Like every time i pray before i read the scriptures,
I learn and get more from it.

Also, scriptures encourage to learn when we are young.
This's make sense, for teenage is the golden period to learn,
we can absorb and digest real fast,
and we are capable for any kind of knowledge.

I know that as us, the pre - missionaries, learning is really important,
be a learner, we can then become a teacher,
and preach the gospel all over the world.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

family

in 1 nephi chapter 1, Nephi said that he "having been born of goodly parents ... having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God",
we can see that family's a really important role on teaching and for growing.

And it brings out the issue on obeing our parents.
Eph 6: 1-4 asks us to obey and honor our parents,
by doing this that we may be blessed.

Endure to the end

Today I've read about King David, as I'm looking for some great men in the Bible.
After I had gone through 1 King, those verses about David and Saul,
I found that things will never be absolute. Like the first King of Isarel, Saul, scriptures stated that he was a chosen young man, a "goodly", was most likely to endure to the end, but who eventually fell because of his jealousy, ignorance. Like King David, who was a great King, faithful, obedient, wise, end up with his human faults, adultery, murdering, which the Lord hates so much. Through these examples, we know that "endure to the end" is never easy.

It requires our many efforts to endure, keep ourselves clean, be obedient to the Lord,
these help us to stay close with our heavenly father.

communicate with the Spirit

The Spirit is one of the Godhead, and also a gift that our Father has given us.
Through the Spirit, we will be guided, inspired and protected.
However, even though Spirit will dwell in us if we are worthy,
it still needs our efforts to interact with the holy ghost.
When we try hard to seek, personal revelation may come as a testimony of truth and as guidance in spiritual and temporal matters.
D&C 85:6, "The inner voice of the Spirit has the capacity to whisper through and pierce all things", what we need to do is notice this our precious gift's voice.

obedience

D&C 93:1, "obeyeth my voice, and keepth my commandments, shall see my face and know that i am" , stated that if we obey what the Lord says, we shall go back to see Him again, which is our ultimate goal.
sometimes it's hard to obey everything, for our weaknesses.
however, these trials are for our sake that help us to improve.
Father gives us temptations, He's not expecting us to fall,
meanwhile He gives us commandments and teachings by His servants,
that if we are obedient, the trials are only for our improvements.

recognize promptings of the spirit

When i'm sharing the gospel, not people are getting something from me,
but i know that i'm getting something from the spirit too.
However, do i always listen to the spirit in the daily life?

The spirit never speaks in a loud voice, rather it whispers.
It requires our attention to feel it.
So we have to be careful that not to be distracted by other voices,
but listen to the spirit if we are worthy.

christlike attributes

Today when i was pondering the chapter,
D&C chapter 4, verse 6 stated the attributes that the christ has, and ask us to follow.
The first thing is faith.
Faith is a principle of power. Faith leads to action.
When we have faith, we are able and willing to repent and obey,
also, we would dedicate ourselves to serve, like what the missionaries do.

influences of the spirit

today when i was preparing my lesson,
it's about how the spirit affect our lives for good.
D&C 46:7 stated that "that which the spirit testifies unto you even so i would thatye should do in all holiness of heart".
after i've read this, i strongly feel that as a missionary,
spirit is our really important companion,
helps us to touch people's hearts, make them willing to listen to the gospel.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

rely on the spirit

Missionary work requires our sustainability, but what leads us to do so?
Our faith in Jesus Christ.
However, Satan always tries to temptate us to betray the righteousness,
during this time, we need to harken to and rely on the spirit.

We need to be worthy that the spirit staying with us,
but what's more, rely on the spirit is a even more crucial issue,
especially for the missionaries,
holy ghost is always our companion that help us to get through the difficulities.

Sunday, September 14, 2008

recognize the spirit

As a promise from God, the Spirit is always available to guide and direct us.
D&C 6:23, 11:12-14 said that it gives us positive feelings like love, joy and peace.

However, the Spirit speaks in a really soft voice, through our feelings and mind,
to recognize it, first of all we have to be worthy that the holy ghost will stay with us,
and second we need to hearken to it carefully.

Saturday, September 13, 2008

light of christ

D&C 88 6-13 talked about what is the light of christ.
and 11-13 especially talked about the holy ghost.
The holy ghost is given to every man and to guide us,
it's the guidiance of the light of truth, or spirit of christ.
if we listen to the spirit, we will be led to the th kingdom of God.

one more important thing is that,
i persoanlly think the spirit can help us to distinguish what is good or evil,
but first of all we need to be worthy that holy ghost will accompany us,
that we may be guided and protected.

Worth of souls

D&C 18:10 said that "the worth of souls is great".
In the category of mission work, this statement is so important.
Every soul of men are all precious in God's eyes,
He wants all of them can go back by Him one day.
So, we need to prepare ourselves to get these souls back to the heaven.
Jesus Christ has shedd His blood and our sins are forgiven,
it draws all men unto Him,
cause in His eyes, we are are great and valuable.

Since we are His valueable children,
we should act like we match our status,
so, those things, go to church, read the scripture, pray everyday are necessary.

worthiness and calling

today i've read 1 thes. 2:12, and it said that "walk worthy of god, who hath called you",
it stated so directly that be worthy that we can serve our Lord.

But i think the Lord does not want us just be worthy when we are preparing or going on wour missions, in morm. 9:29, "do all things in worthiness", we should be worthy on every category.
This makes us be clean and ready to have the holy ghost staying with us.

And also, if we are worthy, people around us will also we uplifted because of our good examples,
"live so that those who know you, but do not know Him, will want to know Him, because they know you." Worthiness helps people to turn to God.

worthiness : to accomplish mission work

There are three categories of being worthy to serve the Lord.
Today I've pondered the verse D&C 88 : 74,
we have to purify our hearts, clean our hands to order to go on out missions.
With a purified heart, the holy ghost 'll always accompany us,
that inspires us, reminds us, protect us and guides us.
Clean our hands that we can do the good works for God.

Worthiness

When we are preparing for our missions, worthiness is an important issue.
If we are not worthy enough, we won't be able to endure in our missions.

D&C 38:42 warned us to be clean, I think it means both mentally and physically.
Mentally clean helps us to stay close we the Lord, physically clean help us to immerse in a better living to serve.

D&C 88:74 told us to assemble, organize and prepare ourselves.
Just three words, but to achieve all these is not that easy.
We need to pay efforts to make these.
Assemble leads me to think of the gatrhering of the tribes of Israel,
organizaton and preparation help us to do better in our work.

Called to serve

Today we've learned about gathering of the Isarel.
The twelve tribes of Isarel is all around the world that needed our efforts, which is missionary work, to get them together through the gospel.

D&C 29:7 stated that we are called to bring the elect together.
Remember, we are elect, and also our brothers and sisters,
the only difference that we have is we've already known about the gospel.
So it's our obligation to soften theirs hearts.

So, what's the purpose to preach the gospel, to gather the tribes?
Through D&C 133:37-39 and 1 Nephi 6:4, we may know that,
it's the work to invite people to our Lord, Jesus christ.

Maybe someone 'll ask that why us? Cause we have the knowledge,
and the most important is that if we are worthy and have the desires,
we can then be the authorized servants of the Lord.
Hence, Alma 42:31 told us that we are to bring the souls to repentance.
And we are doing the Lord business,
we need our so much faith to the Christ,
and as we are His servants, we are supposed to be more christlike.

Called to serve

After the class today, I'd pondered again the scriptures that we've reviewed.

In Mark 16:15,3 Nephi 27:13-22,
I understand that it's important to preach the gospel all over the world,
this is our obligation and meanwhile our privilege.
We'll be blessed if we obey what our heavenly father want us to do.

D&C 33:3,D&C 4, the verses that missionaries have to memerize.
I have been working on it, and everytime I read it, it inspires me more.
Today I thought about the meaning of "the field is white already to harvest",
true, during this last dispensation, many selected, prepared souls are here,
waiting for the gospel to reach them,
we need to work hard like the farmers, "to harvest" these souls.

To harvest

After I've read D&C 11:3, 33:3, 123:12,
they're talking about actually there are many people in the world are waiting for the gospel.
"the field is white already to harvest", during this last dispensation,
standards and norms have been misrepresented,
people need the gospel to guide them,
to help them to choose the right, many people are waiting for us,
we who have the knowledge to share what we know,
to help them to go back to the kingdom of God.
So what we have to do is prepare ourselves, i mean well prepared,
to thrust in our sickles, to lay up our treasure in the heaven.

To share

When i was reading D&C 88:81,
It recalled one of my experiences to serve as a summer missionary.
Here's the scenario, when i was walking home with my companions,
there's a woman passed by who's saying "don't talk to me don't talk to me",
I was kind of pissed at that time, as we didn't even attempt to talk to her.
But then, I realized that these kind of people are the group we need to warn,
these people have hard-hearts, which needed our much effort to soften them, by us the warned people.
I bet this's quite a purpose for us to go on our missions, to preach the gospel to our brothers and sister, let them know how important the gospel is, remind them we are all the children of god.

Called to serve

"you are hereby called to serve ..."
this phrase recalls me the moment of my sister when she's opening her mission call.
I know one day, not too far, I'll do the same thing.
i know it's a bliss to have the gospel in our life,
I personally have seen many examples that gospel has changes their lives.
I can testify how powerful and sweet the gospel is,
so it's important to preach the gospel to everyone, since we're all brothers and sisters,
it's our obligation and responsibility.

I've pondered D&C 4, the deeper i think of it, the stronger i can feel.
This verse gives me courage to serve.
