learning

learning is the most important purpose for us to be here at the mortality.
during this mortal life, we are resposible to learn both spiritually and academically.
to achieve the goal build the kingdom of god,
knowledge is an essential component.

in alma 32:12,
"I say unto you, it is well that ye are cast out of your synagogues, that ye may be humble, and that ye may learn wisdom; for it is necessary that ye should learn wisdom; for it is because that ye are cast out, that ye are despised of your brethren because of your exceeding poverty, that ye are brought to a lowliness of heart; for ye are necessarily brought to be humble. "

this verse stated the importance of learning.
it's kind of a preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ.

suffering

suffering is kind of a trial that helps us to improve.
it's something bad but actually can do good impacts on us.

in alma 20:29,
"And when Ammon did meet them he was exceedingly sorrowful, for behold they were naked, and their skins were worn exceedingly because of being bound with strong cords. And they also had suffered hunger, thirst, and all kinds of afflictions; nevertheless they were patient in all their sufferings. "

we should be patient when we are suffering,
instaed of murmuring,
always remember our many blessings,
it helps to cease our pains,
but we'll have a positive to take the challenges,
so that we can achieve the purpose to learn in the mortal life.

Charity

Today i thought about the christlike attributes,
and i found charity is one of the most important ones.

in Moro. 7:43 - 48,
"And again, behold I say unto you that he cannot have faith and hope, save he shall be meek, and lowly of heart.

If so, his faith and hope is vain, for none is acceptable before God, save the meek and lowly in heart; and if a man be meek and lowly in heart, and confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ, he must needs have charity; for if he have not charity he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have charity.

And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—

But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be pirified even as he is pure. Amen"

Charity is the pure love of Christ!
it was proved that Jesus has sacrificed for us,
and we should cultivate this attribute,
to spread the love to others.

Ingratitude

yesterday i attended a fireside which topic was "gratitude".
the speaker told us that we 've a lot to thank God.
for examples, our bodies, families, talents, being educated, salvation, atonement and so on.
we have to learn to count our many blessings,
especially during some hard times, gratitude may help us to endure.

in D&C 46:32,
"And ye must give thanks unto God in the Spirit for whatsoever blessing ye are blessed with",
when we remember how blissful we are, we may thank God and believe Him,
then we'll even be blessed more.

baptism

I still remember when i was eight,
I was baptized by my uncle.
I knew it's a special moment in my life,
I have agreed to make commitments to our Lord.
this' significantly important to answer why we have to get baptized.

in D&C 20:37,
"And again, by way of commandment to the church concerning the manner of baptism—All those who humble themselves before God, and desire to be baptized, and come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits, and witness before the church that they have truly repented of all their sins, and are willing to take upon them t of Jesus Christ, having a determination to serve him to the end, and truly manifest by their works that they have received of the Spirit of Christ unto the remission of their sins, shall be received by baptism into his church"
here it's talking about why and how the convert get baptized.
actually it's not just for them,
but for us who those born in church, we still need to ponder about the purpose of baptism,
and keep living our commitments to our Heavenly Father.

sacrifice

I've talked to my non-member friend today,
i mentioned about my mission,
and he found it's kind of a sacrifice,
he doesn't understand why i have to go.
i explained to him as i've been blessed for so much,
and so it's the time for me to do something for our Lord,
to help to build His kingdom on the earth,
and i don't find it's a sacrifice, but a service and a privilege.

What's really a sacrifice? what our Savior has done on us!
in D&C 138:2,
"and reflecting upon the great atoning sacrifice that was made by the Son of God, for the redemption of the world",
He is just perfect, but he suffers because of our sins.
and that's why we need to always remember Him,
remind ourselves to do better,
to be worthy to go back to Heavenly Father's presence.

agency

today i've pondered about freedom and captivity,
and i found it's all about the use of agency.

in D&C 137:9,
"For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts",
so, we'll be judged as what we deserved.
we have the freedom to choose what we want,
meanwhile we have to face the consequences.

also in D&C 58:28,
"For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward",
we know that God promises us if we used our agency correctly,
we will be blessed.
